Realistic Grass

First create a new document by pressing Ctrl+N. Set the dimensions 150 x 150 pixels and transparent background. Feel free to change the dimensions according to your needs.

Now use the Paint Bucket (G) to fill the canvas with green, I used #009900.

Set the Foreground color to #009900 and the Background color to #003300. (this are the colors I chose, but of course you can use others).

With this colors set, apply the Fibers Filter (Filter > Render > Fibers) using the following values:

Variance: 16.0
Strength: 4.0

Make sure to get a result similar to the one on the left. Otherwise press "Randomize" until you get it right.

Now apply the Wind Filter (Filter> Render> Wind) using the following values.

Method: Stagger
Direction: From the Right

Select Image > Rotate Canvas > 90º CW to rotate the canvas 90º CW.

Select Edit > Transform > Perspective and drag one of the upper corner handles to the center of the image to get the transformation seen on the left.

Crop the image and that's it.

Interesting. Easy, could use a bit of extra effects, but I like it. Good simple TUT. Right on dude!

Nice tutorial. One thing I added to sharpen the blades was to insert an "add noise" (8-10% gaussian) right before the wind step. Makes the individual blades pop out a bit more. Just my taste. I like the perspective idea!
