Getting a Black Eye

Open the photo you intend to retouch.

Using the Lasso Tool proceed to select the area where the contusion will be.

Still with the Lasso Tool selected, press and hold the Alt key, and draw the contour of the eye to unselect that area.

Add some feather to your selection by pressing Ctrl + Alt + D. You'll need 15 or 20 px of Feather Radius, depending on the original size of your image.

This will soften the edges of the selection.

Go to Menu > Image > Adjustments > Variations.

Click on the "Darker" thumbnail option. See the change? Ok, darken it a little more, and use some green to simulate contusion and red for blood. You'll need to play a little on this before you get a good result. Of course this values will depend on your original photo.

Note that the dialog window, shows you a preview of your changes.

Click Ok and that’s all.
